10 Dec 2023 – Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

For anyone who is unfamiliar with the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, here is a simple explanation:

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is observed and celebrated by Catholics on 8th December every year. It marks the occasion when Mary, the mother of Jesus, was herself conceived without sin. This means that from the very beginning, the Blessed Virgin Mary was filled with God’s grace and was free from any sin, it’s a day to honour and remember how special Mother Mary is to Catholics and believers.

At the Chapel of Immaculate Conception, Sg. Batu, the week-long celebration begins from 30th November till Sunday, 10th December 2023. Please refer to the above images for more information and details.

Thank you and God bless.

Lost and Found: Elizabeth Arulandu

Lost and Found - Elizabeth Arulandu - 2018

Ours is a mixed marriage. My Catholic altar and that of my husband’s faith sit side by side in our house. Although I attend mass every Sunday, I also visit the temple. I would often get into a trance, suffering nightmares or ‘disturbances’ from other Gods.

For 35 years I practiced these two faiths simultaneously, experiencing bouts of anger and impatience that affected my peace of mind. I also had difficulty praying the rosary.

I not only suffered emotionally, I started having a series of accidents which weakened me further.

On 31st July 1988, both my legs were broken during the Sultan Halim ferry terminal tragedy after the St. Anne’s feast celebrations in Bukit Mertajam.

Three more motorcycle accidents followed in 1988, 2015 and 2016, causing more fractures to my thigh bone, a prolapsed disc and a torn ligament in my ankle.

I was in pain and anguish both physically and mentally.

My father was particularly worried about me and my involvement in idolatry and foreign Gods. My journey back to Christ began two months after his death in March 2014.

I was in my room when a ray of light shot out from a picture of the Divine Mercy and went straight to my forehead. My 3rd sister Rosalind persuaded me to forsake all others and focus on Jesus alone.

It took me 3 years before I cleared the idols in my house with my husband’s approval (he does not practice his faith).  I also stopped going to temples but I felt no peace and the pain in my legs continued to trouble me.

In 2018, another sister, Christina, took me to the Chapel of Immaculate Conception in Sungai Batu, where I prayed fervently to Mother Mary for her intercession. Immediately after, I found that I could pray the rosary without difficulty.  This was something I could not do for 35 years!

Sometime later, I had two visions.  In one, I ‘saw’ a woman in blue who told me that “Mother is taking you away from all the false Gods”.

In the second, I had a vision of sitting at mass and seeing a statue of Mary holding the child Jesus. As I sat admiring her beauty, I realized that everyone had taken communion except me.  Suddenly the priest asked people to make way, as he had to give me communion.  He invited me to the altar where a banana leaf was spread out and the priest sat with me on the floor. Then I woke up.

Another one of my five sisters, Cecilia, took me twice to the Healing and Deliverance Ministry in CHS (Cathedral of the Holy Spirit) where I was prayed over and where I felt the power of Jesus’ healing.

Since my first visit to the chapel in 2018, I have made seven pilgrimages to the chapel in thanksgiving to Our Blessed Mother for her powerful intercession.  I now fast regularly and say the rosary prayerfully.

After hearing my testimony, a former classmate of mine, returned to the Church.

The pain in my legs have greatly diminished and I am a much happier person now.  I am blessed with a husband who has been supportive of me all the way and my faithful sisters who have been persistent in bringing me back to the truth.

THANK YOU MOTHER MARY FOR YOUR LOVE AND INTERCESSION.

THANK YOU JESUS FOR ANSWERING MY PRAYERS FOR HELP AND HEALING.
